I am a self taught artist and graphic designer with over 13 years of experiance in art and illustration. I am also the owner of my art brand, Building Character Illustrations. I absolutley love to create and be submerged in the world of art. I'm proud to say that I grew up an 80s kid. I love cartoons, graffiti, anime, fashion art and street art! My goal as an teacher is to help children realize that anyone can be an artist. I have heard this said many times before, "I can't draw." I dont want that to be the story of the children I teach. By using interactive techniques and fun-filled engaging art lessons, It is my hope that each child in my class, will gain a positive start in art.

    Class Expectations

As I stated above, my goal is help kids realize that anyone can be an artist. In order to help them realize this, they must first understand that art is more than simply drawing pictures and coloring them. Art is so much more than this. It is a process that is achieved through imagination, multiple concepts and of course effort. The more effort you put into your work, the better it will look.

During this school year, I will be presenting multiple art projects that your child will be required to complete. These will not be simple draw and color assignments. For grades K-2 The assignmnets will be rudimentary but yet fun and engaging and for grades 3-5, the art assignments will be more challenging but still fun and engaging.

All art projects will require the following:

100% Participation -Effort is important! Most of my art projects will take up to 5 to 6 weeks to complete and will be presented in weekly instructions. No art project should be completed in one day. The idea is for my students to understand how the process of creating art works. Also, this time frame is to help your child have a more balanced scheldule along with their core classes.
