    About Me

This is my second year as an Oakland Elementary School Owl. However, I am a veteran educator with 15 years of experience in elementary learning environments. I have dedicated my career to the idea that all children, regardless of circumstance, are able to learn and experience growth. Furthermore, I  take personal pride creating learning experiences where students are challenged, supported, and above all inspired. When away from school I enjoy: listening to music, reading, and cooking.

I am originally from Trenton, New Jersey, however, I graduated from Westlake High school in Fulton County.  I attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia where I served as Student Body President during my senior year. Morris Brown is a very special place to be because it is also where I met my wife of 11 years Mrs. Dena Ausmore. I earned my teachers certification from Georgia State University and a Master's Degree in Education Leadership from Teachers College at Columbia University.

I have three children that all attend Henry County Public Schools. My sons, Jermaine Jr. and Noah Ausmore attend Mt. Carmel Elementary School. My daughter Imani is a ninth grader Dutchtown High School.

    Vision and Mission

Young people provide the energy that sustains any society. I believe that educators provide the blueprint by which our students build their worldview. As such, building the social, emotional and intellectual capacity of children is the greatest work anyone can do.

My mission is to support teachers as they design learning experiences that create ferocious readers and prolific writers while providing students with the skills they need to be independent learners.

This year my goal is to ensure that every Oakland Elementary School student experiences growth as a reader and has fun in the process.  We will achieve the goals outlined in our school improvement plan through trust, collaboration, and consistency.
