My name is Heather Southerland and I teach 3rd-5th grades - all subjects.

This is my 12th year teaching and my 6th year teaching for Henry County. I earned my Bachelor's degree (ECE/Special Ed General Curriculum) from Mercer University and a Masters degree in Special Education from Columbus State University. I am currently enrolled in a Specialist in Education program at Mercer. I enjoy the every day challenges of teaching and seeing the growth in students.  It is always my goal by the end of the school year, for my students to have a feeling of success and encouragement going in to the next grade. When I'm not at school, I enjoy going to the beach, college football (Go Jackets!), and spending time with my family and our pets.
