Dr. Felisha WilliamsMy Philosophy
According to Bob Marley, “The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively”. The quote truly reflects the influential people in my life who inspired my decision to become a teacher. Teaching is much like gardening, the most important part is getting the soil ready so that that the plant can grow. The rest is about providing nutrients (lessons) and removing the weed (incorrect information or behavior). As your child’s teacher, I will be instrumental in helping you provide those nutrients (lessons) that are needed for your child to be successful.
My greatest accomplishments and contributions in education are the knowledge and experiences that I have given to students every day for the past 17 years. “Knowledge is power” a quote that is attributed to Spike Lee and Sir Francis Bacon, is not just a cliché but an anthem of hope for the students I’ve served. Every child that enters my doors are given some piece of knowledge that they can apply and carry with them for the rest of their lives. Giving students adequate knowledge that is applicable to this ever-changing world is the greatest contribution that I can give. Through the application of that knowledge they are empowered to think critically, to develop passion, and to show compassion as well as be in pursuit of an educational career that is successful and fulfilling.
