They will graph their sight words on the class bar graph outside the classroom as they master their bag of words. I will reward each student with a prize as they master each level. So come on team let’s learn those sight words. Your child will also come home with a decodable reader on their reading level they need to practice reading for reading fluency. All Homework Materials Should Stay Home. All Bags Will Have Your Child’s Name On Them And Need TO Be Returned For New Cards On Monday.
Your child will have a number chart in which they should practice counting forwards and backwards to 120. They also need to be able to count on from any place on the hundred chart to 120 forwards and backwards. Students will also receive a zip lock bag of math flash cards. We will begin with flashcards adding by Zeros. The next week will be 1s etc. Students will have a mad minute on Fridays to see if they have mastered their facts for the week. Each student will graph their mastery on the class bar graph outside our room as they master their zero facts, ones facts, twos facts, etc. Each child will get rewarded as they master their facts with a prize. So let’s go team learn those math facts. I will be focusing on addition at the beginning of the year, subtraction mid-year, and mixed facts for review of the facts as they head to Second Grade. All Bags Will Have Your Child’s Name On Them and Need To Be Returned For New Cards On Monday.
They will have portfolio binders that will provide samples of their work on each standard. Also when each child masters a level they will be able to come out and record that data on each bar graph by their number for math facts and sight words.

At times, it will be a one-way communication tool, and you may or may not be able to reply to some messages.
I also email a little, so make sure I have the email you check most often. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
