Welcome to Fourth Grade! My name is Mrs. Stroud and I am so excited that your child is joining our 4th grade family! I anticipate the year ahead to be filled with explorations, accomplishments, learning growth, and teamwork. Our classroom community will be grounded in mutual respect and leadership.
I love teaching. I began my adventure in Alabama, where I taught 4th grade At-Risk students through games and multiple hands-on activities for Hanceville Community College. I have previously taught first, second and third grade. Now I have been challenged to teach fourth grade gifted.I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am endorsed in teaching the Gifted and Talented program with a concentration in K-12. I also have endorsements in the middle grades in Reading, Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. I received my degree at Athens State University in Alabama, where I received an honorary induction into Kappa Delta Phi, which is only given to the top 10% of educators in the United States.
Again, welcome to fourth grade! This year promises to be a new and exciting experience for all of us. See you in class!
I invite and encourage you to be an active part in your child’s education. If you would like to conference, please schedule well in advance. Our fourth grade curriculum is extensive, and instructional time is crucial, especially now that we have been virtusl for over a year. I always want to address any concerns you may have, and I want to make sure to give you my undivided attention. We will plan our conferences through Google meets. PLEASE feel free to communicate with me via Class Dojo. Class Dojo is what I utilize to set up our Goole Meet conferences.
PLEASE take a moment to join our class on DOJO. This is the major way I will communicate. Please be advised to view conference notices, reminders, and updates as it relates to our class and school. I will also provide News letters, tools and information. It’s easy to join, we will send a code and you will type it into your phone and/or computer and confirm. At times, it will be a one-way communication tool, and you may or may not be able to respond to some messages. The school Day ends at 3:10, but I will leave Dojo on umtil 4:30 every day just in case you need me. I will answer your questions within 24 hours.
I also email a little, so make sure I have the email you check most often. I will locate your email address in Infinite Campus, where your child is registered into our school system. If your email has changed, please send it to me via ClassDojo and update it with the school system. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email is below.
