Course Outline:

� Unit 1 � Transformations in the Coordinate Plane (2 weeks)

� Unit 2 � Similarity, Congruence, and Proofs (5 weeks)

� Unit 3 � Right Triangle Trigonometry (2 weeks)

� Unit 4 � Circles and Volume (3 weeks)

� Unit 5 � Geometric and Algebraic Connections (2 weeks)

� Unit 6 � Application of Probability (1 week)

� Unit 7 � Review (1 week)

Expectations:

� Students are to be signed in to class and ready to learn by the start of the class period

� Students should attend every class unless they have an excused absence

� Students will actively participate in class in a manner that facilitates learning the material being presented or reviewed

� Students will handle technology responsibly. Using technology in a way not conducive to learning the material will not be allowed

� Students who are absent will be responsible for determining what work was missed and making up the work in a timely manner (1 day per day absent)

� All phones and other personal electronics should be put away during class

� Study and do all homework

Materials:

� A three-ring binder or other similar organizational method with notebook paper and graph paper

· Pencils (wooden or mechanical)

· A Scientific Calculator (examples include;TI-30XIIS, TI-30XS-Multiview, TI-36X, TI-36X-Pro, Casio FX-260SOLAR, FX-300ES, FX-300MS, FX-115ES)

Grading:

· Grades are computed per semester

· Homework and other practice work – 40%

· Assessment tasks – 40%

· Semester Summative Assessment – 20%

Communication:

· The best way to contact me is through e-mail. Please e-mail me at any time and I will try to respond to all e-mails within 24 hours

· Parent conferences can be scheduled with me through the school counseling office

· Grades can be accessed through Infinite Campus. I will update Infinite Campus fairly regularly and recommend that you monitor it on a regular basis

Office Hours & Tutoring:

· I will have office hours to help with homework ever day in the mornings from 7:45-8:15

· The ELHS Math Department will also post a tutoring schedule with all of the tutoring times available for all math teachers

Google Classroom:

· Google classroom will be used to provide resources to assist students throughout the year.
