For your use at home, listed below, is a list of sight words covered during the school year. Keep in mind, each child learns sight words at their own pace. He/she has an individual sight word folder, which notes the words he/she is currently working on. Sight words are words that typically can not be sounded out. Please practice with your child. Sight word recognition usually happens within 2-3 seconds. If that does not happen, skip the word and try the next word on the list.
We introduce 2-3 new sight words per week at the beginning of the school year. Those words will be listed in the weekly newsletter. We will then build up to four to five words per week later in the year.
