Cotton Indian Community,
My name is Christi Hulsey and I am the Family Engagement Paraprofessional here at Cotton Indian Elementary School. As a Family Engagement Paraprofessional, my job is to keep parents informed about events and volunteer opportunities at CIE I am here to support you!
Children of all ages benefit by parent participation. Parent Engagement makes a huge difference, by enriching our children’s education as well as their lives, Parent Engagement enhances the opportunities available to our kids! I encourage you to ask your child’s teacher for ways in which you can be involved. Remember…Engagement is more than volunteering with your child’s classroom. Engagement is taking an active role in your child’s education and helping your child at home. We must work together to assist your child in the learning process.
For current information, and to read a draft of our school’s Parent Engagement Plan and School Compact, visit the Cotton Indian Elementary website at www.henry.k12.ga.us/cie. I encourage you to access this website and look it over. Many questions are answered here, and it’s a great way to stay informed.
When you are at the school, stop in to the Family Resource Center (FRC room #135) located down the first hall. I’m here Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm. The FRC has many resources available for you to check out and use at home such as flash cards, reading books, family educational games, and more! Stop in for a tour and see what we have to offer!
Please watch for flyers, emails, and messages about upcoming opportunities for you and your family. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also phone the school office at (770)474-9983.
