Cedric Austin Nash

    Assistant Principal

Striving for excellence and having a no quit attitude is how I was raised.  Being from a family where my mother served in the Women’s Army Corps gave me the drive which helped eliminate “Can’t” from my vocabulary; plus, my initials spell CAN.

I am Cedric Austin Nash.  Born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, the mountains were my home for many years.  My post Asheville High School education took me to Brevard College in Brevard, NC for my Associates of Arts degree; High Point University in High Point, NC for my Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and Christian education; Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC for my lateral entry training for education; and East Tennessee State University, in Johnson City, TN for my Masters of Education degree in educational leadership.  My education also includes my devoted and proud service to our country in the United States Army from 1992 to 2000.  My beautiful wife Clover Anne Cunningham-Nash and I have two sons; Varian Austin and Aaron Michael Nash.

Being a Lion means you are not afraid of a challenge; you work hard, and you are dedicated to success.  Lions also relentlessly pursue goals and take ownership of their actions.  Students know I have an open door policy if they need someone to talk with.  Students should never be afraid to ask questions, and I am always here to listen and give guidance.

There is no time to waste time.  Take on challenges. Make sure you go home with a new understanding each day.  Make this part of education yours.
