• Hello.  My name is Kelly Pickel and I am teaching kindergarten this year. I am so happy to be a part of our school.  I have served in the field of education for 32 years.  First of all, I began my career teaching.  This was a joyous time for me.  I learned so much about the children.  After a few years in the classroom, I served as the K-12  Henry County Language Arts/Reading Coordinator for a little over seven years.  This was a great learning experience for me.  In this position, I mostly worked with teachers.  I began to really miss the children, and returned to the classroom for a few more years.  Once again, after working with children, I entered a new adventure as a literacy coach.  As a literacy coach, I worked in a school environment, along with children and teachers, but most of my work was accomplished with teachers.  After serving in this capacity for about eight years, I longed to spend my days within the classroom.  Therefore, in 2015, I came to Wesley Lakes and began working again, as a teacher.  I absolutely love being in the presence of children.  We teach one another. We talk together. We dream together. We set goals and strive to meet those goals.
