• About Coach Chisholm

My name is Alex Chisholm and this is my 9th year teaching as well as my first year at Hampton High School. I have been in education for the past 10 years where I have worked as an educator for 8 of those years in Clayton County Public Schools. This year I will be teaching 9th grade English-Language Arts. Please know that my priority is to provide my students with engaging and rigorous instruction. I plan to build positive and productive relationships with our students by getting to know them and teaching them how to succeed in life. I hope to continue to meet and communicate with each of you as the year progresses.

I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I am a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School, where I excelled athletically in basketball and football, bringing in district championship titles in both sports, as well a state championship in basketball. After three short years of hard work and dedication on an academic scholarship, I received my Bachelors in Political Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2005. I earned my Master’s degree in Urban Teacher Leadership from Georgia State University in 2013.

I am humbled to be here at Hampton High School and honored to work under the tutelage of Coach William Gordon. Both the basketball program and the institution in general have developed a culture and an environment that produces a profound sense of community. In Coach Gordon I have found someone who believes in the core values of what it takes to succeed both academically and athletically. I look forward to working with this championship-driven staff and I am thrilled to be a Hornet!

I will serve as the assistant varsity coach and junior-varsity basketball coach here at Hampton High School.
