Elementary student must complete 17 career cluster lessons by the time they leave the 5th grade. One of the ways that I am able to expose our students to career lessons is by using Skype. We often Skype with professionals around the world in order to get a real world view of their job and their responsibilities. Most recently, our 1st graders Skyped with a Firefighter and her safety dog. This lesson satisfied the requirements for the Law & Public Safety Career Cluster. Also this week, our 2nd grade students had an opportunity to Skype with a Marine Biologist from the Bahamas. Her work with sharks was exciting and interesting and our students learned all about her Health Science career.
