A.S.P.I.R.E. (Additional Support for Professionals Inspired to Reach Excellence)
Teacher leadership is crucial and essential to the success of any school. The highest performing schools usually have a cadre of outstanding teachers who assist the principal in leadership responsibilities. Recognizing this principle, Henry County Schools is dedicated to providing training opportunities for those teachers who wish to be leaders while remaining in the classroom and for those teachers who aspire to move into a leadership/administrative position.
Although administrative leadership is vital, in isolation, it is not sufficient for maintaining school improvement. Teacher leaders are valuable employees who need the opportunity to expand their skills, thus becoming a vital complement to school leadership. The purpose of A.S.P.I.R.E. is to develop those leadership skills as a means for maximizing performance.
