Ms. Annelise Millwood

Hello! I am Annelise Millwood and this my 6th year as the music teacher at Walnut Creek Elementary! I am orignially from Chestnut Mountain, Georgia (Hall County), but moved to Clarkesville, GA (Habersham County) to attend graduate school. I still have family in both counties and others around that area, including my four brothers and my baby sister, who is a sophomore in college.

I attended Piedmont College (the one in Demorest, GA, not the hospital) and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance in 2011. I decided to stay at Piedmont for the Graduate program in Music Education. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Music Education in May 2013. During that time I was the Graduate Assistant for the Piedmont College Department of Music, which included aural music skills and music theory tutoring, and included two years as the Assistant Conductor of the Piedmont Chorale. As the Assistant Conductor of the Chorale, I conducted choral rehearsals as well as performances with organ, piano, cello, and an orchestra. And I loved every bit of it!

After I graduated, I spent a year as a substitute teacher in Habersham and Stephens Counties. I was a Long-Term music teacher for three months at Demorest Elementary School in Habersham. It's during that time that I fell in love with teaching elementary music... and now I am here in Henry County and loving every bit of it. I have the best, smartest, and most talented students in the county and I am so proud and excited to be their music teacher.

I love traveling! I love playing my guitar and ukulele! I love jigsaw puzzles and sudoku! I love Atlanta Braves Baseball (#ChopOn)! And I love my dachshund, Maddie!
