Hello!  My name is Allison Burley and I am excited to be a Wesley Lakes Elementary Kindergarten teacher!  This is my 22nd year in education.  I became a teacher because I love children!  I have 19 years of teaching experience (18 in Kindergarten and one in 1st grade). I married Rick in 2002 and had a son, David, in 2004. I took some time off to be a stay-at-home mom, became a paraprofessional for three years, and am now here at this wonderful school.  There are great teachers and an awesome administration which is truly a blessing!

My credentials in education include a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College, a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University, a Gifted In-Field endorsement, and a recent Special Education certification.  A not-so-surprising part of my outgoing and enthusiastic personality is my love of acting.  I have much experience in many church, college, and high school shows.  Being a teacher is the perfect fit for me because I get to be the star every day!  Just ask my students!

Something that might surprise you is where I live.  It is a family farm near Hampton!  My family shares the land with my sister, Lori, and her family.  We have many beef cows, two horses, one miniature donkey, four goats, and five dogs.  Two of the dogs belong to us.  Our older dog is a an ultra-cute black lab mix from the Henry County Animal Shelter.  Her name is Scooby and she hopes that your next pet might be saved just like she was.  Last summer we rescued an adorable brown lab mix puppy who had been abandoned at a church.  Her name is Brownie and she has a lot of energy!
