Dr. Austin

This will be my forteenth year teaching and my third year teaching fourth and fifth grade reading and social studies. I have previously taught 2nd grade and in the special education department. I was very honored to be named the RCE Teacher of the Year in 2016.

I attended Henry County Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. I received my Bachelors degree in Special Education from Georgia College and State University, a Masters in Instructional Technology from Troy University, and my Specialist and Doctorate degree in Instructional Leadership at Argosy University.

I currently live in Ola with my husband, Jason, our son, Derek (who is a second grader @ RCE) and our dogs, Indie, Pearl and Zoe. We also have two cats (Alice & Minnie) and two horses, Dandy and Coconut, that my sons uses to comptete in Barrel Racing.

In my "free time" I enjoy spending time with Derek (and the rest of my family too), going to the lake, spending time at our favorite vacation spots (Sanibel Island, Florida, Hilton Head Island and Blue Ridge, GA) and crafting . Derek and I LOVE to visit Disney and go as often as we can! We have even ran in several 5ks and 10Ks at Epcot in order to take a trip to Disney!
