I am honored to have the opportunity to support students as the Work-Based Learning Instructor for McDonough High School. I've previously taught Marketing Education, Entrepreneurship, and Business Education. It is my belief that Career Technology Education is critical to students being successful in this growing technological society. My corporate business experience, management skills, and educational background have given me the essential tools needed to be an effective career technical education teacher as well as equipped me to help prepare my students for the workforce.
I am a Georgia native and received my Bachelors degree from Valdosta State University and obtained my Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in Leadership from Strayer University. After working 20 years as an Accountant, I became a Business Education Instructor in 2006. I have received numerous awards to include 2009 Teacher of the Year from the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, 2009 Teacher of the Year for Youth Entrepreneurs Georgia, and 2016 Teacher of the Year for the Academy for Advanced Studies.
I hold professioal memberships with Georgia Marketing Educators Association and the Association for Career and Technical Education. I have been a resident of Henry County for over 15 years and a daughter who graduated from Dutchtown High School and is currently attending the University of Georgia.
I look forward to an exciting and productive school year!
