    The Woodland Middle School Orchestra Program is one of the finest programs available to your child! Mr. Lowder, the Orchestra Director at Woodland Middle School and also at Woodland High School, is a Master Music Educator and professional cellist with over 20 years of teaching experience. Mr. Lowder is the Georgia Music Educators Association District VI Orchestra Chair as well as the American String Teachers Association-Georgia Chapter President. Mr. Lowder is a National Board Certified Teacher and has been elected Teacher of the Year in Clayton County (Lovejoy MS) and Henry County (WMS). Since WMS opened, the Orchestra Programs under Mr. Lowder have earned 16 Superior ratings and 4 Excellent ratings at the annual GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluations with students performing in grades 6-8.

    MORNING PRACTICE AND AFTERNOON INSTRUMENT PICK-UP
    The Orchestra Room is open for morning practice from 8:00-8:30 AM on Mondays,Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Students who attend morning practice must remain in the Orchestra Room until 8:30 AM. Instruments may be dropped off at 8:30 AM and picked up at the end of the day after 3:45 PM. Friends may not accompany students to the Orchestra Room during morning practice or afternoon instrument pick-up.
