• Welcome to Mrs. Ashley's school webpage!

Hello Hampton Nation!  My name is Leah Ashley. I am a 2002 graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.  After my undergraduate years, I moved to Wilmington, North Carolina to continue my education and earned a graduate degree. I received both a Master’s Degree and teaching license from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and shortly after achieved National Board Certification in Social Studies Education.

This is my eleventh year educating young minds and my second year as a Georgia educator. I have taught various social studies courses such as World History, Civics/American Government and Economics, African American studies, Minority Studies, Psychology, Sociology, United States History and Advanced Placement (AP) United States History as well as AP Government and Politics . I love teaching both history and government and sharing my passion for active citizenship. I am driven to inspire my students to be both locally and globally aware citizens.

I enjoy watching movies, seeing live concerts, performing, singing, painting, having my feet in the sand, laughing and making people smile! Teaching is my passion and I enjoy all facets of life; I find inspiration in this Mark Twain quote daily: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Please never hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns! Communication is a great way to ensure student success and boost student achievement. My door is always open and I welcome all emails and calls. I am excited and honored to be a part of the Hampton community for the 3rd year and I look forward to a great year with you. Let’s rock and roll!
