Attending school regularly is very important if students are to succeed in school. We will closely monitor student attendance this school year. Our goal is to have as many students as possible have perfect attendance the entire school year. We do understand that students will be ill and that emergencies do happen. Whenever your child is absent we ask that you provide a note explaining the reason for the absence, preferably a doctor's excuse. Please send a note/excuse with your child upon their return to school. The note should include the date of the absence, a parent signature, and a contact number.

To encourage better school attendance, we will continue to implement the NBA (Never Been Absent) program and the P.A.N.T.S. program (Present And Never Tardy Students). We will also target our students who were absent more that 10 days on last school year. Parents, who have students with 8 or more unexcused absences, will be required to sign an Attendance Contract. At 10 unexcused absences, the parent will be asked to attend the Truancy Intervention Meeting, held at the Board of Education.
