Welcome to my class!
I am beginning my 28th year teaching, all in middle school. My first 9 years were spent at Henderson Middle School in Jackson, Georgia, the last have been right here at Luella Middle School. This year I am teaching Reading Enrichment and Study Skills , I have taught 6th and 7th grade social studies and science for the last several years.
I've been happily married for 30 years and we have two daughters who are about grown. Savannah is working as an orthodontist assistant, attending Clayton State University, having a wedding this Fall and still hopes to be a flight attendant one day. Madalyn is married and lives in Blairsville, Georgia with her husband and two precious children. All I've ever wanted to do is be a good wife, mother and teacher. June Cleaver is my hero!
I am originally from Panama City Beach, Florida. My family moved to the Atlanta area when I was ten so that my daddy could have a better job. We moved from Marietta to Douglasville my junior year of high school. I attended Osborne High for the most part, but graduated from Douglas County High School. I then went on to graduate from West Georgia College and get married. After a few years, I earned my Master's Degree from Fort Valley State University.
I have a brother who has Down's Syndrome that I love dearly. There's always a place in my heart for children with special needs. Family has always been very important to me and I will treat your child with the same love and care as I would my own. It is with great sadness that I tell you we lost my brother David in the Spring of 2014. He was 41 years old and lived life to the fullest. He had a weak respiratory system that caused him to suffer from pneumonia often; it finally took him home to be with Jesus on Good Friday. Please don't hesitate to ask me about David; I love to share our precious memories.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family this year.
