• Just to tell you a little about me. I was an Army brat so I have lived in several different states including Alabama, Oklahoma and Kentucky. I have my undergraduate degree from Mercer University in Early Childhood Education; my Master of Arts Education from Piedmont College; and my Educational Leadership Certification from UGA. I have been married to my husband, Tim, for 37 years. We have lived in Henry County for 33 years. We have 2 daughters. Jessica, Dr. Austin, is a teacher in her 12th year of teaching here at Rocky Creek Elementary. She, her husband, Jason, & my 8 year old grandson, Derek, live in Henry County.  Natalie is a flight attendant with Delta and is based here in Atlanta. Both of my daughters are products of Henry County schools.
My husband and I now take care of our 3 beautiful dogs that we rescued, Prim, Kensi and Sasha (a former racing greyhound) and our grandpup,Sophie, when her mommy is flying. We also have 3 cats that we care for, one of which was a rescue from right here at Rocky Creek Elementary last year when he was found in the motor of a parents car!
We love going to the beach!! And will be moving there when I retire! My husband is from England, but actually grew up in the Bahamas and New Smyrna Beach, Florida. We enjoy spending time out on our boat, especially in the ocean! We also enjoy spending time in the North Georgia Mountains. We own property in Fannin County and go up for long weekends 2 or 3 times a year near Blue Ridge, Georgia.
I LOVE teaching! I believe this love for teaching is partly what inspired my daughter to be a teacher as well. I began my teaching career in Kindergarten but have taught 1st and EIP for 22 of the 30 years. I'm not sure which I enjoy more- 1st or Kindergarten!! Both are heavy academic years. We have a lot to learn and we will have fun while learning!!
