    Welcome Message
    A little about myself.
I was born and raised in the great state of Louisiana.  Louisiana is place where life is celebrated with gusto.  It has been said that people from Louisiana will eat just about anything and I must say this is probably true.  I received my first degree from LSU home of the "Fighting Tigers" and the original purple and gold.  After moving to Georgia, I returned to school to earn a Masters in Education from Georgia College and State University.
I have moved with my husband and children several times over the years;  Louisiana to Texas, Texas to Mississippi and then some how we jumped over Alabama to Georgia.  I remember our first day in Georgia, because it was the 1st day of the millennium, January 1, 2000.
My husband and I have four children,  and three grand girls.  I love the beach, fishing and gardening.
I have a Masters in Education and have been teaching for 16 years.  Math and Science are my favorite subjects.  This year, I will be teaching 6th grade math.  Math has changed in it's delivery over the years and it is exciting to watch our students develop the critical thinking skills necessary for solving a variety of math problems.  Parents will be happy to know that we will working on fluency and mastery of the 4 basic operations using the standard algorithm (the way you learned math).   Multiplication facts are imperative to math success.  Please continue to practice these facts for mastery.   In addition to math, our 6th graders will learn to self advocate, develop individual responsibility and set learning goals that will meet their needs .  For more information on Math, please visit Mrs. Harnett's website.  I will be working closely with her this year.
This year I will also be working with Ms. Kimbrough in ELA.  For more information on ELA, please go to her website.  I will be assisting students who struggle with reading and writing.
I look forwarding to working with your child this year and watching them progress through the math and ELA curriculum.
