I am a native Atlantan and grew up in Atlanta and Morrow. I attended Clayton State and the University of Georgia before receiving my BA in English from Georgia State University. I later received my post-baccalaureate teacher certification from Mercer University. Currently, I am enrolled at Thomas University working on my MS in Teacher leadership.
I am married and have three grown children. I have a toy poodle and four cats, and am an animal lover. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, playing the piano, singing, reading, and attending sci-fi/fantasy conventions with my husband who is an author in those genres. I enjoy going to the beach and spending time in Savannah and traveling in general.
I love teaching ELA and teaching 6th grade. Before moving to middle school, I was an elementary school teacher teaching 4th and 5th grade (all subjects), so I have a real connection to 6th graders and understand the transition between elementary and middle school.
