Greetings Stockbridge family and community! What a pleasure it is to serve the North Henry community by working with families and helping to shape the minds of young people at Stockbridge High School!
I bring several years of experience and knowledge to SHS. I have worked since 2000 in various private and public agencies; all focused on improving and enhancing the daily coping of children and their respective families. Since 2008 I have worked full time in various public school settings as a school counselor. The task has been a gigantic one, but the rewards of preparing students to fully embrace post-secondary options has been well worth it!
My goals for working with your student are three-fold, encompassing academic, social, and emotional objectives.
I will ensure that your student attains all credits needed for graduation and that, in doing so, he or she fully explores career technical & agricultural areas which enhance their natural interests/talents. This is done through ademic advisement and facilitation of Core Counseling Curriculum.
I will ensure that your student is socially exposed to programs, opportunities and entities of positive impact and similar goals for success. Every student has a right to be in our building and feel comfortable, protected, supported and positively challenged.
I will ensure that your student is emotionally well-adjusted and supported in our school. Basic to the nature of emotionally healthy students is the belief that “if they feel good, then they will look good and perform well”. I am committed to encouraging healthy emotional growth within the building and fostering connections for resourcing outside of the building, as needed.
Again, the pleasure is all mine in making your acquaintance! Please drop in sometime and let me know how I can be of assistance!

Within my 18 years of tenure, I'm proud to say that I have been on all three levels of public education! I spent 10 years in the classroom as an ELA teacher and the last 8 years have been in counseling. My favorite level is assisting high school students and their parents as they venture onward into post secondary opportunities. My philosophy of counseling is consistent with the ASCA Model and the framework in place that supports schools and guidance offices throughout the country in having a successful program. I also believe in the Holistic Theory in the development of the child.
