Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to welcome everyone back to school! I'm looking forward to working with third & fourth graders this year. This will be my 29th year in education, and I am extremely excited about this upcoming year! I have previously taught for 16 years in first, second, third, and fifth grade. Then I became an ESE K-2 transition teacher, and this is my 6th year as an ESE IRR teacher. I also served as a school counselor for 7 years. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and received additional certification to teach middle school from Mercer University. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling from Fort Valley State University. I earned my Specialist's degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Educational Leadership. I completed a 2 year math endorsement program through Henry County and Georgia Tech. I was able to receive an additional certification for teaching mathematics. Next, I was able to receive an additional certification in Gifted education through Henry County. Most recently, I completed additional certification in Special Education through the state of Georgia.
I am originally from Griffin, Georgia. I currently live in Griffin with my husband, son, cat and dog . My husband and I have been married for 12 years. I have a son, Carson, who is 21 years old and is currently working as an EMT. I also have 2 bonus daughters, Brandie and Stephanie, & a bonus son Matt. I am lucky enough to have a 6 yr old granddaughter (India) and a 7 yr old grandson (Trey). In addition, we have twin granddaughters Eloise Ruth and Livvy June who just turned one. Our 2nd grandson Myles was born in December. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling to new places, and spending time with family & friends. Last summer my family and I traveled to North Carolina, Tennessee, and Savannah.
I am really looking forward to working with you this year and watching your child learn and grow! I can't wait to learn more about my students.
