Dear LGE Family,
Welcome to Mrs. Voyles' 2nd grade class! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sece Voyles, and this will be my twenty second year teaching, having spent the last sixteen of those years here at Locust Grove Elementary. I am happily married to Greg, who is also a Henry County teacher. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter Kylie and son Brody, who attended Locust Grove Elemenary, but are now both middlle school students. I graduated from the University of Montevallo, in Montevallo, Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. More recently I earned a Master’s Degree from Walden University specializing in Elementary Reading and Math. In addition, I am certified to teach gifted students. I am very excited about teaching this year and look forward to working with you and your child as we journey through 2nd grade.
Throughout this school year, I plan to work so that your child can be successful in 2nd grade. It will be exciting to watch your child increase his or her knowledge and develop stronger skills in all curriculum areas. As part of Henry County's Personalized Learning innitiative, your student will have the opportunity to set individualized goals that will help direct his or her classroom experience. I believe that one of the most important aspects of this process will be the suppoort that you can provide, as parents, at home. You can help us reach classroom goals by reading with your child daily, discussing school activities, and by assisting with homework. It will be exciting to see how much your child’s mind grows this year!
I look forward to working with you and your child this year. I encourage you to be an active part of “our” classroom. In order for your child to be successful this year, it is important that we work as a team. If you ever have any questions or concerns please contact me. You may call me at school at 770-957-5416 or you can contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also you use a classroom communication site/ app ClassDojo, and will provide you with more information about this soon. You may also send a note in your child’s agenda. In addition, we have a class website that contains important information about our class. Please look at our website regularly for important information. The website can be found by going to the school’s webpage schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/lge and then clicking on “teachers”. This is going to be a fantastic year and I look forward to working with you and your child!
