Dear LGE Family,
Welcome to Mrs. Voyles' 2nd grade class! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sece Voyles, and this will be my twenty third teaching, having spent the last seventeen of those years here at Locust Grove Elementary. I am happily married to Greg, who is also a Henry County teacher. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter Kylie and son Brody, who attended Locust Grove Elementary, but are now in the eighth and ninth grade. I graduated from the University of Montevallo, in Montevallo, Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. More recently I earned a Master’s Degree from Walden University specializing in Elementary Reading and Math. In addition, I am certified to teach Gifted Students, as well as holding a Special Education certification. I am very excited about teaching this year and look forward to working with you and your child, as we journey through 2nd grade.
Throughout this school year, I plan to work so that your child can be successful in 2nd grade. Because we are currently learning within a virtual format, with students working from home, you will have a special opportunity to have an even closer look at our everyday learning experience. It will be exciting to watch your child increase his or her knowledge and develop stronger skills in all curriculum areas. As part of Henry County's Personalized Learning initiative, your student will have the opportunity to set individualized goals that will help direct his or her classroom experience. I believe that one of the most important aspects of this process will be the suppoort that you can provide, as parents. It will be exciting to see how much your child’s mind grows this year!
I look forward to working with you and your child. I encourage you to be an active part of “our” classroom. In order for your child to be successful this year, it is important that we work as a team. If you ever have any questions or concerns please contact me. You may contact me by email at email@example.com. During Remote Learning, we will use the Google Classroom platform to house assignments and allow students to "turn in" their completed work. Daily virtual classes will be conducted using Google Meet. We will also you use a classroom communication site/ app ClassDojo, and will provide you with more information about this soon. In addition, we have a class website that contains important information about our class. Please look at our website regularly for important information. The website can be found by going to the school’s webpage schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/lge and then clicking on faculty/ staff. This is going to be a fantastic year and I look forward to working with you and your child!
