Welcome Message
Welcome to Eagle's Landing Middle School! I am the Title I Instructional Lead Teacher at ELMS. I work closely with all teachers in the school to make learning engaging and exciting and expose students to various strategies to make content more accessible. I advocate the use of hands on material to help teach concepts, using technology almost daily, and authentic problems and tasks to show that, yes, you really use what you learn in the world outside of school! Students need to engage in "patient problem solving" and "productive struggle". Students need to understand that's it's okay to struggle; we need to persevere through our problems! Struggling and making mistakes is part of the learning process; it is the struggle that leads to learning. We encourage them to "fail forward", for we learn more from our failures than we ever do from our success.

Many mistakes have changed the world! Coca-cola, sticky notes, rubber tires, chocolate chip cookies and penicillin are just a few of the more notable ones! Keep making mistakes and you will always continue to learn!

Remember that learning is not about how many answers you know. It's how you behave when you don't.
