Mr. Michael Wright
Greetings Oakland Elementary Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I serve as one of the assistant principals of Oakland Elementary. I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to be a leader in a school with a reputation of excellence. I look forward to working with students, parents, and educators as we strive to encourage a love for learning.
I am a current Henry County Alumni of 2005. Before being appointed assistant principal I served as a teacher, facilitated professional learning experiences, and led a male mentor group called the S.W.A.G Boys (Students with Ambitions and Goals). I began my education career in 2013 in Newton County Schools. I am a graduate of Gordon State University and Georgia Southern University where I received my bachelors degree in early childhood and special education. I continued my education with a masters in early childhood, a specialist in instructional technology, and a leadership endorsement.
My belief of education is that it is a resource that is used to change the trajectory of life. I was on the wrong path and education helped guide my path into where I am today. I see myself in many students today and I want them to have a better opportunity in education than I did. I believe all students want structure and want to learn no matter their circumstances. It only takes one person to believe in them!
Sincerely,
Michael Wright
