• November 2017 marked the start of a new era in Henry County Schools and the start of a new mission for newly-appointed Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis.  Her transition down I-75 from Cobb County Schools where she served as the Chief Academic Officer to taking over as the leader of the 9th largest school system in the state has been a fast-paced journey to ensuring that Henry County Schools is the best place to teach and learn in all of Georgia and beyond.  You could say it is her mission and she is shaping the district to be a leader for others to follow thanks to the strong support of a cohesive board of education and district full of dedicated employees ready to push student achievement to new heights through a laser-like focus each day on teaching and learning outcomes.

Since the start of her tenure in Henry County, Superintendent Davis has made it a goal to reach out and involve multiple groups of stakeholders.  From her first meetings in living rooms and community centers to hear from citizens upon her arrival to the current advisory councils she meets with on a regular basis to garner feedback and utilize their collective knowledge and input, the job of leading a school system is one of inclusiveness from all parties as this is the school system that impacts all phases of the county's wellbeing.

As her mission unfolds, Henry County Schools will continue its focus on ensuring success for each student.  Our students and their achievements are why we do what we do.  Learning is never left to chance, and Superintendent Davis is working collaboratively with district leadership to ensure that our teachers have what they need to teach effectively and know what and how exactly to teach, while students know what they are supposed to be learning.

Henry County Schools is ready to lead the way when it comes to increased, sustainable student achievement, and Mary Elizabeth Davis is on a mission to see this through.
