Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Julie Essex

Hello! My name is Julie Essex. I will serve as the ESOL Teacher this year. I am looking forward to a great year teaching and learning with you. I began my teaching career in 1991 in the Griffin-Spalding County School System. I’ve also taught in the Clayton County Public Schools, and my last 5 years have been with the Henry County School System. This will be my 5th year teaching ESOL classes. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Alabama A&M University, a Master’s Degree from The University of West Georgia, and a Specialist Degree from Troy University. I am certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership and Reading Education. I am endorsed in English to Speakers of Other Languages.

I have a wonderful husband of 14 years, and a sweet, smart 12 yr. old daughter who will be going to the 8th. grade this year. We enjoy traveling, going to museums, and going for walks together.
