Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! My name is Laurie Van Patten (everyone calls me Mrs. VP) and I am so proud to be an Exceptional Student Education Teacher. I have been teaching for 26 years and still love every day I am working with children! I have taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 4th Grade, and as an Exceptional Student Educator PreK – 5th Grade. My husband, Rob, and I have lived in Henry County for 24 years and will be celebrated our 26th year of marriage in August. We also have two incredible twin girls, Gabrielle and Natalie, that will be 10th graders this year at Union Grove High School. I am originally from Tennessee where I lived until Rob and I got married. I attended college at Middle Tennessee University and taught PreK Special Needs. Once I moved to Georgia I continued my education at Georgia State University where I earned my Educational Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education. Kids are my Passion! I love to listen to music and dance.
I am a true believer in working together as a team in making sure all of our students receive the best education ever! As a “Leader In Me” school I am looking forward to celebrating all of our successes throughout the school year with you. I am so grateful to be a new member of Cotton Indian Elementary School. If you have any questions please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org I check these messages almost daily.
Best Day Ever!
