All About Me!
Hello! My name is Doris Abolarin, and I will be your 5th Grade ELA/Social Studies teacher. I began my teaching journey in 2009. I have taught in both Special Education and General Education classrooms. I have taught in grades Pre-K all the way up to 6th grade. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I have earned a Masters degree in Reading and Literacy, and a Specialist’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development.
I was born and raised here in Georgia, and recently relocated to Locust Grove. My husband, Kayode, and I have a blended family of six. I have 3 college kids (Hyniah, Tariq, and Jerquarious), 1 high school (Ayomide), 1 middle school (Fiyinfunoluwa), and 1 elementary (Temitope). We split time (have homes) in the U.S., Nigeria, and Cambodia. I have had the honor of serving in the US military, and have lived in a variety of countries. I love reading, and being introduced to new experiences. Here’s to an AWESOME new year!
