Jon Carmack is currently the orchestra director at Woodland High School in Stockbridge, GA. He began his teaching career in 2011 and has taught orchestra throughout his career at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Additionally, Carmack has taught band at the middle and high school levels. He spent 8 years in Muscogee County School District where his groups consistently earned superior ratings and students frequently made honor groups. From 2014-2018 Carmack was the conductor of the Columbus Community Orchestra. As a performer he has performed with groups across Georgia including: Georgia Wind Symphony, Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps, Tara Winds, and the LaGrange Community Band. Carmack holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Georgia Southern University and an educational specialist degree from Valdosta State University. In his free time, Mr. Carmack enjoys running, watching soccer matches, and traveling.
