All About Dr.Poole

Hi everyone! I have been teaching ESOL since 2006 and love working with students who represent cultures from around the world. I lived in Japan as a child, spent a few months living in a remote area of Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, and married a Brazilian citizen, so world cultures have been a significant part of my life!

I attended elementary and high school in our neighboring Dekalb County. My college experiences include undergraduate degrees from Welch College in Tennessee and a Master's degree from Georgia State University. In April of 2020, I received my Doctor of Education degree from the University of West Georgia. My certifications include Reading Specialist, Middle Grades Social Studies and Language Arts, ESOL, and Elementary Education.

My husband and I have been married for 37 years and have 3 adult children. We enjoy traveling, biking, hiking, gardening, and spending time together as a family. Our family is very competive, so we enjoy playing all types of games. Currently, our favorites are Bocee and Cornhole!
