    Hi Parents and Guardians,

Here is a resource that you may find very useful.

To support children and families during the closure,
DECAL has launched Georgia’s Pre-K @ Home. This webpage will be updated each day with new activities to engage children in learning at home. Activities include storytelling, screen-free activities, outdoor fun and virtual field trips. The content can be accessed digitally on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
    To access, go to: http://decal.ga.gov/PreK/WelcomeToGAPreKAtHome.aspx

    Hi Parents and Guardians,

Here are some important and helpful links that can be accessed while we are out of school.  These have all been mentioned in our class dojo as well.

Our media specialist, Mrs. Southern, has embedded a schedule of online read alouds. It will be updated as she finds more. Here is the link to get to the schedule on her school web page.

    ABCya! https://www.abcya.com/grades/prek
ABCya! has a variety of educational math and literacy games in addition to the featured stories. Free resources and materials are available for grades Pre-K through 5. Children can also listen to short stories read aloud to them as they follow along with the highlighted text.

Starfall is a great site where children can not only listen to and read books but, it also is a great site where students can work on their letter recognition and sounds. Be sure to have your child click on the letters when doing the letter activities so that that they can hear the letter sounds and words starting with the letters.

    Starfall https://www.starfall.com/h/abcs/?mg=k
While some areas of Starfall are part of their premium service, they have many early reader stories available for free. Students can follow along as the story is read to them and can, in some instances, help create their own story. The website is highly engaging and a favorite of young readers.

Families will be able to pick up lunch for that day and breakfast for the following morning for their student(s) (regardless of the school they attend in Henry County Schools) at one of the following locations:
Locust Grove Elementary - 95 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Locust Grove, GA 30248
Hampton Middle School - 799 Hampton-Locust Grove Rd., Hampton, GA 30228
McDonough Middle School - 175 Postmaster Dr., McDonough, GA 30253
Stockbridge Middle School - 533 Old Conyers Rd., Stockbridge, GA 30281
This drive-thru pickup line will run from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at these locations. Again, it does not matter if the student attends that school or not. Henry County students can pick up meals at any of the locations.

    Thursday, March 19
