Major Wilkerson

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  It is an exciting time for teachers as well as students as we begin our work to ensure a successful and rewarding year.

My name is Major Wilkerson, and I am excited to begin my first year as the physical educaion teacher at Pate’s Creek Elementary School.  I have 18 years of teaching experience. I received my Bachelor of Science in Sports and Fitness Studies from Brewton-Parker College, where I was a member of the baseball team. My Master of Science and Kinesology from Georiga Southern University and I received my Education Specialist in Leadership from Columbus State University.

I have three children and have an upcoming wedding this school year.  I enjoy golf, Braves baseball, college football, and coaching my children.

Physical activity and fitness reinforces developmental skills such as fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, agility, flexibiity, endurance, nutrition, sportsmanship, teamwork, and living a healthy lifestyle.

Looking forward to a great school year,

Major Wilkerson
