Remote Learning


    This post is to give you a little more insight into how digital learning will look over the next couple weeks. If you have any questions, please either ask via Remind or feel free to email me.


    We appreciate your patience as we transition to digital learning during the upcoming weeks. Please check Google Classroom daily for assignments and information, and feel free to email me any time with questions or concerns. Please note there are also multiple links and lots of information you can access on my page on the McDonough website.



    The tech tools you will need are:

    Hardware: Chromebook

    Software: Study Island, HMH Resources, Active Classroom, Google Drawing, Gimkit, Flocabulary (can be accessed on the launch pad) and Quizizz online (can be accessed in Google Classroom)

    Learning Platform: Google Classroom

    Website: YouTube and McDonough Middle School Website


    -You are expected to complete each component of the Study Island and Active Classroom Assignment. You are also expected to complete the Quizizz assessment. The you tube video will give you a visual of the area and the software will give you interactive experiences with the standards.


    -We will also go over how geography impact where and how the people of Southern and Eastern Asia live. We will alos explore the Enivrimental Issues of the area, I will make sure you get the help you need through digital resources, such as Google Meets and HMH Resources.


    -Every time I have office hours, I will post a link on Google Classroom so you can join me via Google Meet, an online video conferencing system. I will be available to help you with your work and answer any questions you have relating to your assignments. Though you are not required to join the meetings, the expectation is that if you need help, you reach out during those times as this will be the easiest and quickest form of communication I have with you while we are out of school.

    Google Hangout/Meets Hours: (I will post an invite in Google Classroom) Dr. Miles: 10:15 am (Monday- Thursday) Catching Learners Up Days (Friday) This will be time for you to get caught up on your work.


    McDonough Middle will post each teacher's lesson plan via the school’s website and I will post my individual lesson via Google Classroom and my individual webpage within the McDonough Middle School website. See the link above
