ESE/Speech - Fontenot, Alisa
-
Hello!
My name is Alisa Fontenot, students usually call me Ms. A, and I'm thrilled to be working with Henry County School System and excited to be able to help students with varying communication needs.
I began my adventure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the School system in 1998. I've earned my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of West Georgia. You may ask, why I chose this profession. The journey began when I found out my son had cerebral palsy. Through endless searching for answers, guidance, and therapies, along with confrontation with school personnel, I decided to gain a better understanding, of a child with needs, by going back to school. Upon registering at the University of West Georgia, my advisor guided me into the world of "COMMUNICATION". Since then, my world continues to change by our family's individual challenges and my student's challenges and needs.
I am a wife and mother of two children (now adults) and 2 dogs. Additionally, I have 1 gran-dog. I'm originally from Louisiana and a "Cajun". Like most Cajuns, I'm a hands on learner and love the outdoors and to cook.
If you have any questions, please contact me at alisa.fontenot@henry.k12.ga.us
Sincerely,
