    Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL)

          The GVRL is the media center's online reference section.  Books are added here on a regular basis.


          GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online.  Through GALILEO, students have access to over 100 of databases and 10,000 articles that are not availble through free Web searches.  To access GALILEO at home, you will need a password.  See Ms. Smith or Ms.            Howard in the media center to get the current password.

    Helpful databases

     explora EBSCO's interface designed for high school students. Students can browse topics of interest or search for a topic of their choice.    Search results can be limited to source type (e.g., magazines, news, biographies, etc.) or by Lexile range



    • Occupational Outlook Handbook:  Career information on hundreds of occupations from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

    • O*NET Online: Students can find occupations to explore, search for occupations that use designated skills, browse occupations by high growth industry, identify key in-demand occupations, view occupation summaries and details, and use crosswalks from other classification systems, such as military or apprenticeship.

    • GAfutures - free online resource for students who plan to attend college explore careers and finanical aid resources.  Students can create individual accounts to save and manage their information.

    • Georgia ONmyLINE (GOML): Georgia ONmyLINE is the system-wide catalog of online courses and programs offered by institutions in the University System of Georgia. 

    •  FastWeb: Online resource for scholarships
