    Mentoring Program: Falcon Friends

"There is neither a hand so small nor one so large, that it cannot reach out to grasp the hand of another." This quote by Evelyn Moore sums up the goals of the FLE Mentoring Program. Our mentors work with students for 30 minutes once a week to help foster an excellent relationship. At FLE, we are working hard to make a difference in the lives of our children. The Mentor adults in our community help students understand the value of education, while exposing them to the world of work and community service. Numerous enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer mentors have worked with Flippen Elementary students, providing them friendship, academic help and a positive role model. If you would like to have this hugely rewarding experience,  we would love to have you!

    Volunteer mentors:

    • receive structured training and ongoing support.

    • spend thirty minutes with a student one day each week.

    • work with a student needing help with reading and/or math.
