Principal Wilson shared this about Kimberly:
I would like to nominate Kimberly Troutman, first grade teacher, for recognition as an Exceptional Educator. Mrs. Troutman has been at Unity Grove Elementary for the past five years. She brought with her a solid background in general education and gifted education instruction along with great energy and enthusiasm. Within a few months of joining our faculty, Mrs. Troutman proved to be an exemplary educator and positive contributor to our school. When our school was going through transformation to become a personalized learning school, Mrs. Troutman stepped up to the plate to support those efforts. She implemented strategies to build student ownership in learning. She reflected frequently on her practice and was open to feedback. As a result, her students have thrived under her guidance!
Mrs. Troutman is creative and thinks outside the box. Those qualities made her an excellent choice to lead our first grade team for several years as grade chair. Under her guidance, the team members grew in their collaboration and data analysis skills. Additionally, she has excellent classroom management skills and has developed a rapport with students, parents and colleagues. Her former students come back to her classroom year after year to see her and parents frequently comment on the impact she has made on their child. She has an infectious smile and always goes out of her way to lift others up during the day. Kimberly is truly an outstanding educator and person and greatly deserves this recognition!
