• Milestone FAQ

    • How do I know where to go?
      • Your teacher should give you that information ahead of time. Every teacher has a copy of the testing plan and will receive a hard copy on the day of the test. You can ask any adult where you are testing or where to go if your class has been relocated.

    • What if I am late?
      • If your room has already started testing, you will not be permitted to test. If there are two sections for that test day, you may be permitted to take the second section and make up the first section on a make up day.

    • What if I have an AP test on the same day as my Milestone?
      • You should take the AP test. Ms. McCormick-Floyd will schedule you for a make-up session.

    • What if I am sick on the day of testing?
      • Ms. McCormick-Floyd will schedule you for a make-up session.

    • What if my illness keeps me out for an extended time?
      • The make up session dates are set by the Henry County Testing Coordinator. If you miss a test and cannot test during a make up session, you will receive an Incomplete on your grade report and will not receive credit for the course. You can make up the test during the summer session or in August. Please make every effort to be at school on time for your testing date.

    • How long will it take for the results to come back?
      • It can take a few days to a week, depending on the test. Generally Social Studies and Science results come back quickly while ELA and Math results take a bit longer due to the extended response questions. Results are given to teachers as quickly as possible in order to calculate final grades. When tests are taken during make up sessions, the results may take a bit longer.

    • Why do I have to turn in my phone?
      • State policy requires that no personal technology is present in the room for testers. At WHS, all personal technology will be collected prior to testing, including phones and smart watches, and placed in a bag which will be stored outside the classroom in a secure location. Students will have their technology returned once the testing is completed. **Any student who fails to comply with this procedure will receive 5 day of ISS. If an electronic device rings, the Georgia DOE could potentially cancel the scores for everyone in the class.**

    • What if I forget my chrome book?
      • We will have a few machines available if a student does not remember their chrome book. Those students who have multiple tests should not rely on a loaned machine for each test. WHS reserves the right to deny a loaned machine to any student who consistently does not bring their own.

    • What if I lost/had my chrome book stolen?
      • You should immediately report this to Ms. Spooney in the media center.

    • What if I need a charger?
      • Some chargers will be available, but this cannot be guaranteed. You should charge your chrome book at home or bring your charger with you.

    • What if I go to AAS in the morning?
      • You should stay at WHS to take your test. We will communicate with AAS to let them know you were present here, taking your milestone. If you do not stay, you will have to participate in a make up session.
