Purpose of DHS School Council
The General Assembly of Georgia and the Henry County Board of Education believe parents and community support is critical to the success of students and schools. The School Council is intended to bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and principals, and bring parents into the school-based decision making process.
Who Serves on the DHS School Council?
The DHS School Council consists of 4 elected DHS parent members (including 2 business members), 2 teacher/administrator members, and our DHS Principal.
What is the term of office?
Elected School Council members serve 2 years from July 1 until June 30. Council members may serve more than one term.
When do meetings take place?
Meetings are held once a month throughout the school year at DHS.
