About Me

  • This is my fourth year teaching at Ola High School. I teach American Government and AP European History. I also coach girls varsity soccer. I am the sponsor for Rho Kappa.  I served in the US Army as an infantryman. I graduated from GA State University with a BA in Political Science. I lived and worked in DC and have worked on local to national (and some international) political campaigns. I enjoy traveling the world with my favorite areas being Eastern Europe. I am married and have five children, the youngest being adopted from a country called Latvia. I am currently pursuing my PhD with a focus on history. I am a huge soccer and hockey fan (ATL UTD and Preds). During the fall you will see the orange come out and the occasional playing of Rocky Top in the classroom. Yes I am a UT fan - born in Tennessee with my heart always there.

I enjoy politics and history. My desire is to have my students understand the issues and seek facts and the truth in all things. This will allow them to build their view which allows them the ability to defend their view. We may not all agree on issues but we will learn to understand the issues and respect the opinions of others on those issues.
