• Literacy Days

The ELA Department is happy to showcase outstanding student literacy achievements in our annual Literacy Days Competitions. Students are able to compete in poetry recitation, drama, and writing competitions.

Middle School District Competition: Friday, December 6

Each middle school is able to send one poetry recitation winner and one writing winner per grade level to district competition.  Additionally, each middle school may send one school-wide drama winner to district competition. Students may not compete in multiple competitions at the district level.

K-5 District Competition: Friday, December 13.

Because of the number of elementary schools in our district, elementary school-level winners compete in intermediate cluster competitions before progressing to district competition. Each elementary school can send one poetry recitation winner and one writing winner per grade level, as well as one K-2 drama and one 3-5 drama, to cluster competition. Each cluster then sends one poetry recitation winner and one writing winner per grade level, as well as one K-2 drama and one 3-5 drama, to district competition.

    South Cluster: Nov. 1

    Central Cluster: Nov. 8

    North Cluster: Nov. 15
