    Hello OWL Family,

It is with tremendous enthusiasm and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as one of the new Assistant Principals here at Oakland Elementary School. With almost 25 years of experience in education, I firmly believe that it takes a collaborative effort from administrators, faculty, and parents to ensure that students’ needs are met socially, emotionally, and academically.

Recently, I served as a Math Instructional Coach here in Henry County, but have been working diligently within the district since 2006. I began my educational career in 1996 in Thomasville, Georgia, which is also my hometown. My journey in education has afforded me the opportunity to serve as a classroom teacher, an Instructional Coach, and as an Academic Vice-Principal, both in the United States and abroad.

My educational journey serves as proof of my love for learning. I am a graduate of Valdosta State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Due to my love of learning, I continued my education by earning a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership, an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. It is my love of learning that drives my passion to ensure that all scholars are provided with quality instruction while developing their own personal drive to be the best they can be.

Again, I am extremely excited to serve the students, parents, and staff of Oakland Elementary and I am fully committed to preparing our scholars for the global society that surrounds us each and every day!

    Educationally yours,

    Dr. LuShana Walden
