Mrs. Yvette Christian (Assistant Principal)
A native of Chicago, I was born into a family of educators which led me to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education at Florida A & M University, in Tallahassee Florida. After graduating Cum Laude in 1991, I was recruited to teach in the Cleveland Public School System in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, I earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and served Cleveland Public Schools as a teacher, and a regular county-level presenter for hands-on science education. I also, served as a building Lead Teacher prior to moving to Atlanta, Georgia to marry my high school sweetheart. In Georgia, I began teaching in Clayton County Public Schools, serving as a teacher leader and eventually earned the honor of being recognized as a Teacher of the Year, as well as being recognized by the state of Georgia as a Master Teacher. After moving to Henry County as a teacher, I continued to work in leadership capacities and earned another honor of being Teacher of the Year, as well as being acknowledged by the district and state for high student growth percentiles. I currently work as a proud Assistant Principal at MMS, and have earned a second M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership. With 29 years of experience, I continue to seek ways to impact the success of students and teachers alike. I love being an educator, mother, wife, and friend!
