Mr. Bruce Johnson
“Reaching the eyes, ears, hands, head and heart is the philosophy of a great education.”
I look forward to learning with students how to reach beyond our expected boundaries by believing in an expectation that comes with the acceptance that reaching for the stars is a greatness which comes from the heart.
Raised in Indiana, I graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School excelling in music and theater. I received my Associate's Degree in Broadcast Production Technology from Vincennes University. I have worked in the various aspects of the radio and television industry including: disc jockey for a variety of music formats, field news reporter, Program Director, ENG (electronic news gathering), camera operator, break switcher, Technical Director, production assistant of Muppet-like children’s program, live broadcasts of basketball, baseball and soccer, news anchor as well as other news, weather and sports, television program host, sales associate and Sales Manager. I operated my own advertising agency in Indiana as well as in Florida, teaching customers basic advertising strategies. I have also had the opportunity to teach high school broadcasting for several years sharing these experiences with my students.
Later, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Ministry and became an ordained Pastor and Music Minister working with youth ministries for 20 years. While as Youth and Music Minister, I was able to use my experience in the broadcast industry to perform and work on sound and stage lighting, and train others to help create a visually stunning worship atmosphere.
While earning my Graduate Degree in Teaching from the University of North Georgia, I taught in several schools in the North Georgia area as a long-term and general substitute teacher. While working on my degree, I wrote and self-published a fun book of riddles that I have used in my classrooms for years.
My wife and I with our two children have called Georgia our home since 2004 and enjoy being an active and engaged participant in the community.
