Hello and welcome to 5th grade! My name is Ms. Hunter and I am excited to teach 5th grade this school year. My goal is to guide your child throughout their mission of excellence this year. I have worked in education for a number of years. This will be my fourth year at Dutchtown Elementary. Prior to joining the Dutchtown family, I worked as a Technology Instructor in Henry County. I also educate students throughout Georgia in a STEAM focused program.
My family and I moved from California to Georgia in 2012. In California, I worked as an Assistant Program Coordinator for public education. In addition to serving as an Intervention Educator in both public and private education. I am the proud parent of two boys. My youngest will be in the 8th grade this year. My adult son currently works in Information Technology while living in California. Reading is one of my most coveted pastimes along with traveling, which I try to take advantage as often as possible. I absolutely love outdoor activities as well as technology innovation.
Guiding children to recognize their inner talents is my priority. I co-administer a mentoring and self-awareness program which I had the pleasure of creating, which operates within various areas of Georgia and California. Additionally, I am a Founding Board Member for my sons non-profit AAU basketball development training program.
I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In addition to a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, as well as an Executive Certification in Public and Non-Profit Leadership.
